Got the holeshot
my grandsons little quad ran great when they got it, took it out to the desert about 5 times. my son in law runs the carb empty then heads home with the quads on a trailer and its a 1.5 hour round trip. The thing started running rich and quit running. I pulled the carb and the floats set really high. I dropped the float level and it fired right up and ran fine.
my thinking is that the floats bouncing around in a empty float bowl causing the float level to change.
am i over thinking it? jim

I've worked on lots of stuff and to this day I still have never had to touch floats.
I've seen the float valve get a bit bound up inside the seat and had to clean it and smooth the sides with 600 grit.
Sounds like you pissed of the float/fuel valve...
