These kind of people deserve to be beaten to the ground solely based on their laziness. Real specs are available online for just about any trike, quad, and bike. They copy and pasted info for a quad. A great example of what happens when kids are pushed through public schooling based on participation awards.

There's been a bunch of these scam ads running all year.

Most of the time the phone number is right in the ad and it's from somewhere, states away. Other times, is some generic Gmail address with a typical American sounding name.

A lot of the time, the ads have completely incorrect vehicle specifications or odd sounding descriptors.

If nothing else, it'd be fitting if the people who's photos are used in the ads were able to bring a lawsuit against the poster.

I got a scam reply on one of my "trikes wanted" ads on CL. I live in maine, the number that texted me was from L.A asking if "this was still available" lol.

King, idk if you saw the 87 250sx in Kansas City for like $1k. Man I emailed that guy so fast, then after I hit send i sat back and thought about it for a sec. Sure enough, response came back as a obvious scam. The ad was worded pretty decently though, so it wasn't super easy to tell. It sucks. Theres 5x more scam ads than real stuff. Same with Toyota pickups these days, Facebook is chock full and they done absolutely nothing when you flag them.

BarnBoy, I don't look that far north and didn't see that 250SX scam. It's probably the same one that's all over C-list in different cities. I think price varries $600-$1,000, depending on where it's listed.

I typically won't drive as far as KC, unless it was a friend deal; someone I could trust to not try and pass junk off on me.

It's pretty risky driving very far for something and someone unknown, unless it's parts trike prices.

I don't need anymore trikes, but I still look to see what's out there. I've got dual sport motorcycles, so I'm not into the sport trikes, because that thrill is already filled. I like the lowly hardtails for their simplicity and fun to ride at a slow pace.

If I find anything interesting, that I'm not wanting to buy, I post the listing in the C-list/Ebay thread. Just about every time I check my email or am on the computer for other business, I take a few minutes to look for trikes nearby. I'm looking more for parts trikes than runners. That's the best way to get a deal on parts. Even rollers without an engine can still have a lot of good stuff on them.

Remember, once scammers have you're phone number and maybe a little more information, they can hijack any of your accounts attached to that number. Email, bank, Facebook, Google, any of them. SMS is not a secure sign in method.
