NDP are arguing that they must vote for the emergencies act because of a failure of government.

I can’t follow the logic here.

This government is incompetent, therefore we must give them much more power to fack things up to a much greater extent.

ETA: I almost forgot, the lady that was trampled by the horse is OK. I think she had a fractured collar bone and some other minor injuries. She said they haven't heard the last of her protesting, I believe she is a full blood Mohawk Indian(?)

However! The guy in the brown jacket, if you've seen the video, nobody has heard any news about him since the day after the trampling, when it was rumored he had a heart attack. He just seems to have disappeared.

That's completely insane. I read up on the guy and he's a lifetime D-bag that should've been imprisoned long ago but apparently governments use these type of people as terror soldiers to keep the general public in fear.

Yes they do. That's why with all of the "peaceful protests" over the last couple years the arrests for those types have been minimal and charges filed are even less. You need to cater to your security force....

He knew it wouldn't pass the Senate so he shut it down as if it was his idea and he was going out of his way to be respectful of people's rights. I'm sure that is how the legacy media will spin it.

I don’t know about that scooter. The Canadian Senate hasn’t blocked anything that I’m aware of in my lifetime. Most of them are either in Florida, or the Bahamas. It is not like your Senate. It’s basically a golden parachute given out to the people who have either done political favors for the party in power, or people they are trying to get rid of From the opposition party. There are also no limits on the seats, so if you happen to have one less senator on your side when you become Prime Minister, you just appoint two more from your side and then you don’t have to worry about losing any votes.

As messed up as it is, I prefer your system way more.

Short answer, yes.

Anytime the party in power puts something up for a vote and loses, the government is dissolved immediately. Then the Governor General (another golden parachute appointment) asks the Queen of jolly old England for permission to have an election (the old doll always says yes) and in a month (I think) we have an election.

Trudeau has what we call a minority government, meaning that his party has less than 51% of the seats in the House of Commons, so in order to avoid losing any vote, he needs one of the other parties to vote with his party. In the case of implementing the Emergency Measures Act it was the NDP (super left group) that voted with Trudeau’s Liberals.

Our Senate is three laughs short of a joke. They don’t even need to show up to work to get a cheque (yeah, that’s how we spell it) it’s a rubber stamp branch of our government that costs us a fortune and does NOTHING.
