    200x head

Hey! Hope I'm posting this in the right section. I have an 85x that has a regular 200 top end, so I purchased a head online from an 85 x motor. When I received it this is the condition the bottom cam journal is in. Did I get screwed or is this acceptable wear? I couldn't see it in the photos. My current one doesn't have wear like this. Not sure what to do at this point.

Sometimes pictures hide things or don't illustrate a complete picture.

From the picture it looks worn/scoring/overheated/oil deprived/etc. How does it feel to the touch?

I hate to say it but I've put things back in service looking worse than that....and it worked fine.

    Good luck

easy way to check is put the cam in the head and put the valve cover on...if it rocks is ready for the machine shop or scrap yard.

MegaCycle needle bearing cam set up will cure this problem.
