I’ve just picked up an 86 Super Red down here in Australia. Now I already have an 85’ and very used to it and how things are on it.

This 86 has the QA7 carby on it. It’s has the cold start kit which I would like to delete as it never gets very cold here in Australia and it’s totally unnecessary for our climate. There is just far too many hoses on it for my liking.

My question is, can I just delete all the hoses and T pieces off the carburettor and run the two breathers like on my 85? I know there is quite a few differences on the later carburettor internally, the side starter jet and the blocked off passage by the rubber bung. I’m just not sure if it needs all those hoses to run correctly with the changes (compared with the 85’)

Any insight will be appreciated.
