Hello everyone. You can probably figure my name out, but in case that is elusive, it's Jim.

Back before the turn of the century, around 83–88-time frame, I had an ATC 70. I rode the WHEELS off that thing. Learned how to do a tune-up and found out what gas feels like in your eyes. Good times.

Rolled it a couple times, because it's the right of passage for a three-wheeler. I didn't die either. At least I don't think I did. I also crashed into a decommissioned gas pump that was in the back yard at the shop. That didn't kill me either.

Back then they were still available at the dealers. I caused a slip hazard with my drool puddle around the 250R. Wanted one BAD back then. It never happened. Now that I'm older and (arguably) smarter, I know a 350X (or 200X) are better choices- lower maintenance, wider torque band and just the ball-peen reliability of a Honda 4-stroke (and they look coool- 350 having the edge there with the dual headlight). The 2-stroke IS awesome, but annual rebuilds are just not gonna happen.

We had an ATC 110 for a short time- Dad had a foreign auto repair shop (so I was rebuilding engines lone before I could drive and break them) and also towing business as part of it. A 110 got impounded... it was an early one with the 1971 James-Bond-era slick/chevron balloon rear tires that were just so cool back then. But the owner coughed up for the tow and impound charges and I never got to ride it.

My focus changed to building big block Mopars, the culmination being a very nice 1967 Belvedere. I got the nicest compliment from a friend with that car: "It's the only car i've been in where I was in fear for my life." Compliments just don't come much higher than that.

So, I'm watching mrcbuilds on youtoob as he's dealing with a basket-case 350X, and this forum was suggested. I wanted to get onto a forum of some sort for a couple reasons- 1) to find a trike for myself and 2) to find a place to ride the thing.

This all started as my (9-year-old) son and I started working on a Manco Dingo gokart restoration/resurrection. It was cheap, and will need a ton of work and parts, but... that's fine. (I'm also redesigning the steering geometry to Ackerman for better stability in corners). ANYWAY, it occurred to me that he's gonna tear off and I may never see him again until he finally runs out of fuel. I need something to keep up with him so I can keep an eye on him! Yeah! That's it! And what better than a completely unsafe, banned machine from fourty years ago! That MUST be a good idea!

So, checking the usual suspects (Craig's, eBay etc.) and finding some things, noting the VERY high prices for VERY sketchy machines, and yeah. Want to find reputable sellers who care about the machines and not crackheads flipping stolen trikes.

I understand the value in spending a bit more to get a better "base", but I plan to ride this thing, so it just needs to operate. That might even be optional as I can fix anything from a wristwatch to a big block so give me a shop manual and look out, but I don't have the time I once had for such projects. And I own a Defender that needs constant care, as well as an antique (1998) BMW both as daily drivers (although most days BOTH are not driving at the same time).

It seems I cannot view any for sale section here. I understand not being able to sell, but I'm looking to buy (or trade if you like vintage Haro freestyle bikes). Prefer face-to-face transaction but I feel more comfortable dealing with a community than dealing with Craigs (worst) eBay (better) or other outlets. But I will if I have to!

So, if you made it this far, you are either really bored or genuinely interested. I hope you can help me!

Thanks for having me here!
