New to the board
I have a 1985 200x and all was goin well I took it out to Glamis for the weekend and their was no issues turned on first kick all weekend then when I came back all of a sudden it didn't wanna turn on, found it had a weak spark replaced the ignition coil, which helped it now turns on for a a couple seconds but as soon as I hit the throttle it instantly cuts off. Not sure what went wrong here.

Got the holeshot
on one if my 200x project trikes. I'd get a weak spark with the old plug but no spark with a brand new one. after swapping the coil, cdi, hot wired it. I finally swapped the stator and it fixed it. jim

Have you gone the the procedure in the manual for diagnosing a weak spark?
There's more to the ignition system than just the coil.
