Approximately how many miles will a 1985 Honda 125M go on a full tank?

Approximately how many miles will a 1985 Honda 125M (horizontal engine model) go on a full (factory) tank? Average off-road terrain with a few small hills. I'm new and need to know before I take off for the first time.

There's far too many variables for an answer.

Either fill the tank from empty, measuring how much fuel it takes, and making note of half full, or carry an extra half gallon to gallon in case you misjudge. At a little more than half a tank, turn around.

Reserve will not get you back to the starting point and some fuel may remain in the right side of the tank until tipped over enough to flow to the left.

Unless you're using a GPS or the trike has a trip metter, you have no way to determine actual distance, so you'll have to keep an eye on fuel level. Without a good amount of experience on a particular vehicle in various terrain, you won't have enough information to estimate maximum distance and don't forget that what fuel economy is in one direction, isn't necessarily going to be the same heading back.

Carry extra if you're going to push your luck. That's you're best preparation. There are several brands of auxiliary fuel tanks available, no need to get dangerous by using soda bottles or the like, or trying to strap down a regular fuel container. Fuel bladders are a thing too, and may be easier to stuff into something that'll strap down easier, but they're expensive. Bladders do fold and store smaller when empty though.

Not that they make anything for ATV use, but Amfuel in Magnolia makes aerospace/defense and commercial fuel bladders if your interested in researching that technology. There are manufacturers of small bladders available to the general public, just not them.

You'll get a few more miles running non- ethenol fuel as well. C'mon trump you need to put the truth out there...
