I have rebuilt hundreds of these carburetors through my shop and yes they are a pain in the ass .
In my opinion a shindy kit or OEM is the only way to go .
Make sure it’s for a 1985 model , 86 is different .
I believe there’s a rubber plug that blocks off the choke circuit from flooding out so make sure that’s still present .
A complete air box is also necessary to run properly .
Link to the OEM seals kit , notice the rubber plug . No carburetor kits come with this plug only OEM .
