Picked this up in February for 600$ , was rough but complete and came with a lot of extra parts , including the original engine and some old goodies.
The oem motor is stuck (crank ?) piston and head look fine but it won’t turn over. A project for another day. Or spare parts.
This motor is from a broken framed 85 , allegedly it’s got a new piston xr200 cam and valve job but it sat for like 6 years and now blows oil like a 2 stroke. Hoping the rings just need to re seat or we’re rebuilding it in December. Run strong and has compression so maybe that or the valve stem seals are gone. Has a cobra exhaust and an oem carb.
I put a new ims tank , maier plastics the Kenda tires from my 350x , and had racetech re do the rear shock and I re did the forks with cartridge valve emulators an new seals. New chain filter oil change etc. Renthal bars , ASV levers new brake reservoirs (front from a 400ex ) pegs and heel guards from Swamp Outlaw (check them out Noah is cool and builds a lot of nice ATC parts skid plates lifts etc)
Have a couple more things to do, the rear taillight doesn’t work (front does) so I gotta chase that. Hoped it was just the bulb but no luck. Thanks for looking.
