I for the life of me can not find a second gen tecate frame so I am wondering if anyone has frankensteined a 86 or 87 kx250 into a second gen Tecate 3? The 1986 kx is the most similar with a fully solid frame but wrong angles like the seat being too high and the fork rake being too steep. The 87 kx250 uses the same engine but is designed with a subframe. With that in mind I was thinking I could get a Tecate 4 Subframe (actually obtainable) and build adapters to fit it to correct the seat angle. I am also asking if anyone knows if a first gen tecate 3 swingarm will mount up to these years kx250 frames? I have two first gen t3s and one is my rider and very clean and the other is mechanically good but not pretty so I wouldnt mind pulling chassis parts to build a trankencate to drop my 87 kx engine into. Has anyone tried this before and made something decent?
