200E Front Struts - Any Luck At Auto Parts Store?

    Hi -
I pulled my front suspension apart and have a blown strut. I've seen people saying you can use a car hood or hatch lift strut, as long as the dimensions are correct and it's 25 pound unit. The trouble I'm having is finding something that has a through bolt on one end and threaded bottom end. Has anyone had luck in using an auto lift strut and if so will you let me know your source or part number.
    Thanks!

Often the ends are threaded so you can change from a ball end to a rod end.

Search online and you’ll find vendors. (I had to do this for the hatch lifts for my car)
