As the title says. Never had a piston do this before in any bike. Was a pro x piston. I’m really surprised it didn’t gak the cylinder. I’m gonna have to split it apart to clean the pieces probably put my other crank in it now.

That's not good! Sorry to hear that. I had one let go like that in my R, many, many years ago. I can't remember what brand of piston though. After replacing the OEM piston, I used a Pro-X one time, and the rest have all been Wiseco, so odds are, it was a Wiseco piston.

That is certainly sub-optimal. Lucky the bore was not destroyed too, or a lock up and break the rod.
Could have been much worse!
Double post…
All good. I typically run wiseco too but the pro x at the time was a smokin deal. It lasted a good 3 years and had a lot of hours on it. Think I’m going to do something I shouldn’t do. I’m going to slap the stock cylinder and piston in for a weekend. I have family visiting and we usually take the threewheelers out. I’ll clean it out the best I can and run it.

Is that the exhaust or intake skirt? Before ya slap the stock top end on I would bring the rod up to TDC and make sure the big end is not blueish or gray color. Also grab the rod and see if there is any up and down play. If there is and you slap it together it's going to blow again.
