The OEM fenders have a plastic boss that the support brace contacts.
The new maier fenders don’t have that boss, so the metal support has nothing to contact.

A couple grommets in the support brace make all the difference. Once the fender is supported this way, it will be obvious they are more stable than before. When I’m hanging off the edge of the seat anyway, I can feel a difference.



I also found cutting about 1/2” where they contact the tank was necessary.

The fender wouldn’t go forward enough to drop down into the latch so cut to fit.
