    fuel filter

Where can I find a fuel filter for my 185s gas tank? Mine broke off when I was cleaning the tank. I've thought about using an in line filter but don't really like that idea do to limited space between the tank and carb.
Do any of you have a filter you could part with?

you can find the filter at your local honda shop, but if you are running a metal tank with a little rust it is best to use an inline filter also. autozone sells one that will fit easily between the tank and carb. i installed one on my 200e. i think they classify it as a comercial filter( riding lawnmowers, welding machines etc.).

Apparently, running an in-line fuel filter is just a waste of small space on Hondas. I was speaking with MR ATC (very knowledgable guy) and he informed me what I already thought: Hondas have filters in the petcock as well as the tank (i dont recall the carb but I wouldnt assume so).

Mr. AtC is correct in that there is a filter built into the petcock, but they aren't that good, as they fail quickly. An inline filter is finer, therefore will do a better job of catching sediment.

What they have are screens, which help, but screens dont work near as well as in inline filter. Also the inline filter will run about $2, and most are clear and you can actually see that you have fuel flow.
