What oil do you run in your ATC?

Many people have told me to use only 4-stroke atv/motorcylce oil in any ATV, such as Castrol motorcylce 10-40. How about just regular automotive oil like valvoline, pensoil or quaker state? I know many people who have always ran 10-30, 5-30 or 10-40 automotive oil in there three wheelers since new and nothing ever went wrong. Should we really be spending extra money on specail motorcylce oil in our ATC's knowing that we could easily and safely run automotive oil at a lower cost? What do you all think?

i use quaker state peak performance 10w-40

i just baught a box of the peak performance 10w-40. you can run just about anything but synthetic. messes with the clutch if im not mistaken.

I run Castrol 10-30 in everything I own ( besides 2 strokes ). Never had a problem.

I run Havoline 10w-30 and 5w-30 in mine.

I run Mobile 1 synthetic motorcycle Oil when its handy, or Mobile 1 Synthetic car oil, which I always have on hand, when its not on all my 4 strokes, and have for many years. Im still waiting for those clutch problems to occur.

I run nothing but Honda or Kaw motorcycle oil in my trikes.

I run anything I have laying around, (if the machine burns oil and needs some I just top it off with what I have) If I change the oil, I run usually anything thats 10-30w Thats the way I run oil.

Can anyone else tell me about these clutch problems that some may get after using synthetic oil? I am new to the two stroke world, curious why synthetic oil may **** something up? I used it in my 01 Warrior and never had a problem? Anyone explain?

we run pennzoil 10w40 in all of r trikes and bikes have for years they run great no problems
