new shiney maier atc350x front and rear fenders

    Hey Guys
Has anyone here on the board bought the new shiney maier front and rear fenders for a 86atc350x recently. I was just wondering how much of a difference there is between the new shiney fenders and the old dull fenders? Also has anyone had trouble mounting the new maier fenders and if so what did you have to do? Did you have to cut them and how did they fit before you cut them and how did they fit after you cut them? Is there alot of work involved as for cutting the fenders and what is the best type of cutter to use?

    maire fenders

i bought 85 ( red ) maire plastics about a year ago ,,, the shiney ones.
i have used maire fenders on about 4 machines and mine have all come with no holes drilled for mounting. sometimes there's a dimple to indicate where the holes are gonna be. i just used my old plastics for a guide to make a mark as to where to drill the holes.
i use spade bits of the correct size. some folks know them as butterfly bits. normally used to drill holes in wood.
i did hafta trim the area aound the tank on 1 side on those x fenders i bought but it wasn't any big deal.

the new shiney plastics are much nicer. although there are no holes and the dimples are not accurately placed. you may end up having to correct where the holes should go. after that they go on pretty easily.
