Yeah, the YFZ is way better than a banshee. Not only does it have more power, the suspension is SOOO much better. I would definatly get the YFZ over a new banshee. The only thing banshee might be better for is sand drags, but it would need many, many mods to really get it up to speed.

I got to ride one on an MX track a few weeks ago. I felt a little too high and a little too far to the front, but I think thats more of a comparision to what Im used to. The machine cornered better than any other quad Ive ever ridden. Suspension was super, but rear end was way too stiff for my weight, but that may have just been a preload adjustment. It jumped super, and landed well, and the whoops I could take a lot faster than on mine, in spite of the stiff rear end. Low end power was good, but a little disappointing. I guess I was expecting more from the hype. Still pulled better than the DS650 I rode. Mid Range to top end was very impressive. I felt stock gearing was a little too high as well. This machine will have no trouble pulling a good holeshot when the gate drops. All in all, with a little personalized setup, this machine would make an awesome and competitive MXer in its stock form, and I think it would make a fine cross country machine as well, with lower gearing and a more appropriate rear tire.

The Banshee is a different species from a different era. Its doesnt jump as well, corner as well, whoop as well, or holeshot as well. For raw acceleration, nothing will touch a Banshee if it can get the power to the ground, but its rare to see a Banshee NOT lose most of it in wheelspin. This is why the fare so well in dunes.

I havent rode a YFZ450 yet but I know I want one. Some say the yfz may take the "best ever quad" title away from the trxr.
Tim sr- Considering my riding ability(or disability), Do you think it would be a suitable replacement for my Blaster? I like the fact that its only 20lbs heavier than a blaster and more than 2x the motor and susp. I also like the look compared to the raptor or new blaster.

The YFZ is so much faster than a blaster...its not even funny. But if you are confiedent you can ride a lot faster...then go for it!

    Hey Jim,
First, thanks for not asking "which is faster?"!!!!
Thats a tough question, but in all honesty, I think the 450 does not have the capabilities your Blaster has. It is a full size, and its not quite so limber, and doesnt have that super short wheelbase. Its probably closer than some of the others, but to be able to do the things you do now, I dont think it will. I think youd like them a lot, and would enjoy one in addition to your Blaster, but I dont think it is capable of replacing it.

As far as compared to the 250R, The new Yammie is far superior. For that matter though, the Z400 is far superior.

    YFZ 450

i've rode a couple YFZ's each one of em were completly stock and every one of em governed at 140...exactly, its real fast, how would a raptor stack up against a YFZ, are they faster in top end, or slower, or by how much?

Trikerider2oo7, I didnt see anyone here say that trikes suck.If someone wants to sell there old trikes and buy a new quad, then more power to them.
MojaveRider, I realize that a YFZ is alot faster than a blaster. The type of stuff that I do on a blaster doesnt involve going fast.
Tim Sr., You know I dont give 2 squats about which is faster
,,,,,Now I'm thinking about putting a blaster motor in a YFZ chassis.Nows theres something that would look ODD.

Hey Jim what about those heavy flywheel kits that you can buy. I would think that would make it just perfrect for woods riding.
I had the RIGHT to remain silent, I didn't have the ability!
