I am just wondering about how often would you have to rebuild if your a casual rider on the weekends for the trails, about how often would you need to do a top end rebuild for an 83-86 250r lol

I was probably getting about 50-60 hours on my TriZ, (barring an impeller failure) and probably 80 hours on my 86 R. The main purpose of liquid cooling is to extend cylinder life, so your air cooled R's are probably going to be somewhat less.
I have two 85 Rs that are on their original bores. Both still run strong with 175+ psi. My friends and I ride them hard, drag race, cross country, TT tracks. I just stay away from large jumps to spare the rear shocks.
Stock shees and raptors are easy prey. :-D

Probably more often for 2 strokes, but none of my 4 strokes were ever rebuilt. Take good care of it and you wont neeed any top end job.
Still learning how to use and abuse my toys.
