    I need feedback for a quadsport 230

    Hey all
I need some opinions on a suzuki quadsport 230...I may buy one soon, so I would like to know if i have something special to check when i'll go see it, if some parts go wrong on all models, if it is worth the trade...(I'll probably sell my SX to get it :'( )

    What do you think?

They are actually fun little bikes. They were the "original" thumper sport quad, having come out in 1985. One of the wackiest things about them was the crazy side stroke kick starter, which you need to look at for a stress crack on the lower housing .... I had an '86 and it took a while to get used to. As far as comparisons go, unfortunately, the 250X, Warrior and Mojave totally out classed it when they came out in 1987. The motor only put out 12hp in the 230cc model, as opposed to 15.6hp for the 250X, 21hp for the 350 Warrior and 18hp for the 250 Mojave and I have witnessed many an ATC200X beat them in a drag race. It had good, but not great suspension numbers and handled only ok. The 1990 250cc model was only a minor improvement over the original. Top speed is right around 50mph. Apparently, 230QSports suffer from the same front frame bending issues as the Quadracers so look for crash damage or a bent frame right behind the upper and lower A-Arm joints - stand the bike on end.
