i figured it out,there is a clutch type mecanism bloted to the back of the magnito housing....those bolts break...(three of them). you'll have to remove the recoile starter,the stator coverand the mag. housing,you'll need a puller for the mag. huosing,then you'll see the culprit. i was able to drill and remove the broken bolts,the replacement bolts were a little too long so i had to cut them down a bit,but it worked great.now i have to rebuild the starter as its a little weak and dosn't crank as fast as it should but im on the rite track...good luck
