Well I have to get new tires for my trike. I have a 22-12.00-8 on there now. What do i need to know before I buy another set? Most of my riding will be in mud or dirt. What does the ply mean exactly, and what should I look for?
Thanks,
Brad

The term "ply" when speaking of tires used to mean the number of layers of cotton cloth embedded in the tire.<BR>
Now since cotton cloth isn't used it roughly means the equivalent strength of x number of plys of cotton cloth, the "ply rating"<BR>
The more plys, the stronger, stiffer, and heavier the tire.

... telling us what kind of trike you have would be a big help. Since you live near me and probably encounter the same type of riding I do, you would definitely need a 4 or 6 ply - there's alot of rocks hiding in that mud and dirt around us. As far as tread type goes ... list that trike and riding style and then we can determine what you can pull.
