    long bolt

On the side where the pulse gen was you will fjind a long bolt going down from the top. If the valve cover assy is off and this is removed the jug and head shold both come off.

after you take the head off, the jug will just slide off. the head holds the cylinder on. once you get the head off, tap around the base of the cylinder with a rubber or plastic mallet and lift the cylinder off. make sure the cam chain doens't fall into the cylinder. good luck

i really don't know to much about these motors, but i would say that you would need to bore it out. any machine shop would be able to tel you what the next over bore is, because you need to get it miched before they can tell you what it needs to be bored to.

You would only need a sleeve if the current cylinder could not be bored out to accept an oversize piston. I would suggest taking it to a machine shop, getting the cylinder size, then go to a dealer and see if they can get you a piston in the size that is required for the new bore job. If the bore is too large, then resleeving is in order.

I'd go on a limb to say that the cylinder will just need a new bore and an oversized piston.

    Good luck!

    motor woes

i ain't no expert either bubba but if i remember correctly ,,, my motor fella who dose my internal work like boring and such told me that a honing will take off about 10 thousands of a inch. he bought oversized rings after a honing and my 205es motor has not given me any troubles in 3 years.
come to think of it,,, he done up my 350x motor and it's a quite running motor w/ no smoke or problems.

so maybe a honing and new rings is in order.

i met a fella who knew his numbers on boring and he filled me in on a few facts about boring. i can't remember the details but if you were to bore it out to the max (80 thousands ?) you would only gain a couple of cc , tops.

I had a jug bored and it cost me $60 bucks at my kawasaki dealer. The piston cost me $24, rings were $9.

Is that the top of the piston i see rusted in there? Loosen it up for about a week w/ penetraiting oil. Slide it out. Take the jug to a independant cycle shop. They will probably hone and measure it for free. (they did mine). Get a shop manual (its probably better than everyone put together on any board). BTW: Do you know how it goes back together??

hey i have a 200e cylinder .. which i believe you could get by with a hone. Now is your piston stock or oversize? the cylinder I have is stock bore.
