300ex oil leak?

Oil is squirting out from the vent tube that comes from the top of the motor....anyone have an idea why this is happening?....it will squirt oil out until its empty,luckily i noticed it in time, any ideas would be great.

Are you sure its the emissions vent tube? .... it sounds to me that its not the vent hoses but its the outside oil line that runs from the oil pump to the top of the head. If its not that, it could be from some sort of clogged filter bypass - but the lubrication diagram from the shop manual dosent really show one. I'd pull the cover off and replace or clean the oil filter anyway. It could be from a clogged camshaft oiler port and the oil has nowhere else to go but out the vent tube .... but the spent oil from the shaft drips down the timing chain to be recollected at the pump, so I don't know.

thanks for the info. and yes it is the vent tube. people have told me that i may have a bad seal,valve, the tube just has been building up oil for a long time in the tube, its hard telling what it is...o well i will figure it out then sell it and maybe get back into 3 wheelers
