Unhappy Help! KLT 250 won't start!

I went to fire up my Kawasaki KLT 250 last night and it wouldn't start. I drove it around quite a bit Monday after work, and some over the weekend. I've only had it a few weeks and have had no problems. Where do I start?? I'm not much of a mechanic, but I hate to take it to somebody and pay to have it fixed if it might be a simple fix. I thought maybe the battery was the problem at first, so I jumped it off. That worked, but after I hauled two 50# bags of feed from my truck to my barn, it died on me. I tried jumping it again but no go. It seems to be cranking OK, but it just turns and turns without starting. Maybe a carb or fuel line problem? Anything simple I should check? Thanks.

first thing to check are all the stupid things. Is the petcock open, ignition on, choke at the right setting. If all of those check out, take out your spark plug and see if it is fouled. If it is wet with gas and sooty, replace it of clean it off. I'd imagine that that is what your problem is. Make sure you check to see if you are getting spark too. try that and get back to us. Good luck

Take the fuel line off the petcock, and turn it on and off to make sure gas comes out of it.

You don't have a petcock on your trike. Make sure the electric fuel pump is getting power(I think it is behind/under the battery). If you don't have power there try bypassing the key. The way the key is mounted on that bike if a little bit of water gets in it the positive terminal inside will corrode.

    Thanks!

It turned out to be something dumb...I was getting impatient and starting off before it warmed up, running it with the choke about half way up. The guy at the local dealer told me that's a sure way to foul the plug. I took it out, cleaned it off good, stuck it back in, and it fired right up. Thanks for all your help!
