Where can I find a good deal on a helemt cam?
I want one that will connect to my Sony DCR-TRV140 digital camcorder. That way I can send some better footage to Matt over in Australia.
Any input is welcomed.

Looks like your cam doesn't have A/V input. Check here for products and compatibilitys:

I'm looking at a helmet cam myself. I have a Sony camrea also, but I don't like the thought of dragging it around with me. So I have done some searching on my own and found this one:

Yes it is costly a set up. How ever it is fully contained and can be download onto a computer via a USB port. You can even download the video to a camera or VCR if they have the proper connectors.
I emailed them and ask this:
and His reply:Dear skullcamz,
Hi, I was checking out your hemet camera and have a few questions. Do you have to have any special harware / software to load the video onto a computer? Can you load the video on a camcorder also? What are all the options of saving the video? I ask this because I go on extended trips ( 3-5 days ). I ride about 6-8 hrs a day and would need some sort of added storage ability. Having a computer or video camera on hand wouldn't be much problem. Please let me know. Thanks Howdy
To me this really sounds like the way to go. The only draw back is I don't have the money available right now. argggggNothing is needed to transfer data from the recording device to your PC, it is recognized as a external hard drive. Yes, you can load it to a camcorder if your camcorder is able. Don't think you will need another storage device, because at 1gig an hour you have almost 20 hours of storage.

My personal favorite is just the good ol' go pro helmet cam. Now I know it's a little overrated and such but I thought I'd try one on for size. It comes with a 4gb memory card which isn't much but I went to just my local Radio Shack or Wal-Mart and got a 64gb memory card that lasts days after days. The battery life on it is also amazing. I leave it on all day and just hit the button to record and hit it to stop recording but never turn it off. It also comes with a bunch of cords like an hdmi cord that allows you to plug it into just about any tv and watch it from there. And it has a lifetime warranty on it seeming how I had a nasty spill and broke the bracket I had no problem with the people over at go pro getting me a new one. Takes amazing videos and catches all sound so you can hear that wicked sound of a good 2 strokeI would recommend this camera to anybody!! Here's a link where i got mine. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/...SD-Card/GO+PRO Happy filming!!

I got a midland xtc 100 vp2 for like 60 bucks.
It's the size of a roll of quarters, self contained.
It's so light I forget it's in my t shirt pocket.
Standard usb connector to connect to computer.
Lots of youtube videos of it in action.
There is NO mention of audio anywhere on the packaging so they didn't sell well but it Does have great audio.
and it comes with like 4 different mounts and a waterproof enclosure is avail
I ordered a ContourROAM Hands-free HD Camcorder,Saturday.
Should be here Thurs , and in action by the weekend.
Will post back with a humble review.
I recently got a GoPro hero2 and I'm loving it. It is working great for me.... just need to upgrade my computer now because its not fast enough for the high def. videos. lol its never ending
I got the Contour+ and it is just amazing. It's very light weight and sleek where it only sticks an inch off my helmet. It shoots great video and it sounds great, plus you can also put an external mic on it too if you want to narrate the video or put the mic close to the motor to great engine sounds. I can also see what the camera is looking at by blue tooth through my phone so I can set it up perfect. And when I upload it to my computer it records the video with gps so it will show where I am going on a map, the speed I am going, and the height.
