    Not your normal atc 70

I just got this 70 Saturday. Need some help with it. Has anyone seen chain rollers like this before? The one is still there, but it appears that the lower one is gone. I'd like to find a replacement. Also, any idea what forks they are? The guy I got it from said as far as he could tell they are 185s forks? What are the things a few inches below the dust seals? They appear to be threaded holes of some sort, is this where a fender would attach or a front rack (if they are 185s forks). I think one of the forks is on backwards because the threaded holes are pointing the same way. What is the phillips screw for towards the bottom of the fork? What year 70's uses 3 lug hubs, and had phillips screws for the case bolts? It is a 3 speed.

He said the carb, cyclinder, head, piston was all brand new. I belive him on the carb because the screws are still gold. It sure doesn't want to idle though. It starts first pull, but then after warm somtimes it will idle really high, and other times it will die. The rear suspension actually is very soft, and functions better than I thought it would. With the open air filter you can really hear the air being sucked into the carb.

that looks awesome. how fast do 70's go? that looks like it'd be fun to play around on
    Caution
Do not "POP WHEELIES" and run for any distance with the ATC. The oil capacity is relatively small and the oil will drain out of the oil pump area thus causing loss of oil pressure, resulting in costly engine damage -CLYMER

Those forks are aftermarket. I have a set very similar to them. The difference is they were off a bigger machine. If you look at the fork bottoms you will see a Suzuki mark on them. This is the "S" that they use for their parts.

The chain tensioner is a good one. The metal is chrome plated with what seems to be roller skating wheels on it. I know this because like the forks I have one of these also. I have never even thought about selling it. I am saving it for the one machine I am getting started on ( real soon, I hope ). If your missing a wheel you might want to go garage sale shopping for a pair of old roller skates. You could also go to a local roller rink and get one. I'm 80-90% sure they will work or can be slightly modified to work. And it would be easier to find in the future.

I run a skateboard wheel on my chopper as a chain tensioner and as long as you have a good, high rpm pair of bearings, they last for years. Any urethane wheel will work perfectly. Make sure you don't use a cheap plastic one....I tried one of those and when the bearings heated up on a long ride, the inner wheel melted - not good.

The great thing about skateboard wheels is the color range...pick one out to suit the trike.
