    jet question on 225dx yamaha, Ignition???

    I am already thinking maybe my carb is missing something cause it looks like someone has been messing with it before, my main jet has a thread inside it, is there supposed to be something there????

    Could the engine bog on full throttle do to a ignition problem???

    You know what else i just noticed today, after riding it a bit, my exhause gets so HOT it turns red, the whole pipe, i mean from the outside not just the inside, especialy where its close to the enging, is that normal?????? or is that something messed up too???? thanks for all the help

    IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU HAVE AN AIR LEAK WHICH IS CAUSING YOUR ENGINE TO BURN SUPER HOT. THIS IS NOT GOOD. I HAVE A 225 WITH THE SAME TYPE OF EMPTY THREADWAY IN THE CARB. I JUST THREADED A SCREW IN THERE AND IT HAS CONTINUED TO RUN PRETTY DAMN GOOD.YOU SHOULD INVESTIGATE THE AIR LEAK TO SEE IF THAT IS THE SOURCE OR WHAT THE SOURCE IS. GOOD LUCK!
