Who here has a 430cc big bore kit for their 350X? And how is it?

hey murray, how ya doing. i don't have the big bore kit but think i read the reliabilty basically flys out the window with the big bore kit. i am not a hard riding type myself and probbly will not even come close to riding my 350x to it's potential but gotta wonder why you would wanna take it up to the 430 range ?
i was talking recently with a fella about putting the upper 350 jug/head/valves on the 300ex so you would have eletric start along with reverse,,, now that sounded good to me.
i picked up my x motor yesterday and thought the parts box beside my stuff went with it. it didn't. the head cap looked the same so i asked what it was off of and my motor fella said it was off a 500cc ??? motor cycle engine ( for another customer) + was told they are basically the same. single cylinder thumper with 4 valve head.

Hey John.... Was it a XR 500 topend? If so I tried to match up my XR jug when I had the 350X apart and it was quite a differance. Some major machining was involved to make an adaptor plate, and the cam chain gears were no wear even close to lining up...

As for going bigbore, Ive heard the same unrelieable, and hard on crank bearings!!

if honda made a cycle called xr500,,, that must have been it freaksfix.

They made a Ft 500 Ascott I think it is that was a streetbike. It is the exact same thing as a XR500 trail bike. Thats probably what you are talking about.
