I heard a rumor that the Rhino made it up.
I also think Tim Sr. climbed it on the Z.
Just curious if anyone else went up the Bone.

HondaATC climbed it on his TRX250R, and of course TriZ-Jim always climbs it a few times on his Blaster before he will even setup his camp.
Yup I made it up 3 times with my R...I was considering the Z but it doesn't have any front brakes, it was running 18in turf tamers and there were no skid plates so I figured I'd wait until next year to try it on the Z![]()
Funny you posted this thread Derrick, I was thinking about doing the same this afternoon.
I went up it w/ the Prarie 700. I stood it up on the roller fairlead on the way down, I thought I was a going over LOL. Up was better for me than down.
Just for the record I wouldn't try it w/ the T3, 18in rear tires suck in the rocks.

So this Devil's Backbone I'm guessing is the uber hill there at Haspin. Is it long and steap and require some skill to make it up or can everyone that hits it make it? Anyone have any pics of the hill so I can see it, and try and compare it to the hills that I climb.

This hill is not about just hitting it and going up, regardless of how wicked your bike is. It's all about skill...plain and simple. The first 1/3 of the hill is a steep incline up a wash out with huge, sharp boulders coming from everywhere, and huge divits dug into the only path by large truck tires. Then if you make it past that area (undoubtedly the hardest) you're facing a little less of an incline, but with large sheet rock and sharp edges everywhere. Not to mention all the loose stuff floating around and the sheet rock is smooth as glass under it.
I wouldn't even think of going down it, let alone up it. I think it's all the smashed, abandoned cars at the bottom that really screw with your head! Even the alternate paths back up are just sick!
Holic, if you rode shotgun with someone else, in a machine that was brand new (see: unfamiliar) up that thing, you are as crazy as you are guttsy!
I have got to get there on Friday next year to see this hill conquered!
I watched a dirtbike go down it on Sunday, with his back tire about 2 ft in the air! That's how knarly it is!

The 'Rhino" has seats side-by-side. So not as bad as you think. Think of a true offroad/all wheel drive GolfCart in the true sense of the word. Like a JD Gator, but much more rugged and advanced.
Wait... here's a pic of the Rhino....

Sounds like a wicked hill, nobody has any pics? I wish we had a hill like that around here. My friend can make it up the most challenging hill in his stock 2001 dakota.
