Wellsville, Ohio Ride 6/19 Weekend

TimJr and I will be heading to Wellsvile the weekend of 6/19 - 20. We will probably arrive Friday evening.

Wellsville is rated as one of the top 4 riding area in the US, but seems to be a national secret. Its in SE Ohio near East Palistine, and terrain is rocky and hilly. Ive been riding there since the late 80's. Its similar to Haspin terrain, but its about 800 acres, and maybe a 10th of the riders, so the trails areent all worn down or anything. There are no tracks or drag stripes. There are plenty of easy trails, but there are also a lot of trails that make me squirm. The woods are always full of mud bogs if you like that kind of stuff. Plenty of wooded valleys and creek bottoms. There are hillclimbs to make the most seasoned riders chicken out. Basically there are no rules. They allow pretty much anything you can drive as long as you dont leave it there. A lot of rail buggys, trucks, and jeeps ride here. Camping is all primitive. Cost is like $8 per day with no additional cost to camp.Firewood is plentiful.

We're loaded up and heading out. If you live in the Oh, PA, WV area, this place is the mother of all woods riding, and you really ought to check it out.
