    Question 84 250r oil check bolt/help

The small oil check bolt on my 84r does not thread in well. I think the threads on the engine part are damaged, I bought a new bolt and it still vibrates off at high speeds and it does not tighten up well. How can I remedy this? Thank you gentlemen for your time.

I would first drain the oil out then take the side cover off the trike and tap the hole one size larger. Then buy a new bolt. Possibly with a lock washer on it to keep it from working itself loose .

    Thats what i would do..

You could also have a shop helicoil the hole. This will let you use the stock size.

My 85R had this same problem. The hole was pretty much totally stripped out. I just taped the hole out to a 5/16 size and it works perfectly. Cheap repair also.
I had the RIGHT to remain silent, I didn't have the ability!
