Will A 400ex Motor Mount The Same As A 350x?

Ok, as always, I'm starting to think up plans for my x project. I've decided to look into planting a 400ex motor into because of availability of parts and the price. I've looked at alot of pics of the two motors and the 350x and 400ex look almost the same. Does anyone know for a fact, if the 400ex mounts the same and will fit?

Was told that alot of fab work would be needed. I have an EX and X and the motors mount quite different in the rear of the motor. Lots of hassle. 300 EX is easier and almost direct mount.

I think it could work. Use the 400ex swinger and rear end, then all youd have to do is fab up new motor mounts and find a place for the oil container. The back of the 400ex motor is held in place by the same bolt for the swingarm. Kimmer Id go for it. I think it would would be a great project and if you think right wouldnt be incredibly hard. If I could get out to your place Id be willing to help.

Mark, do the front holes line up? If it is just the rear top hole that doesn't line up, it will be easy to do. That, and if the centerline of the sprocket lines up with the one on the axle. Let me know if the front holes are the same, and if the size of the motor is the same.
