    500X front forks near completion

I messed around with the front forks some more today, and I think I've got things figured out. I've got to cut the dampening rod, re-thread it, and drill an oiling hole in it and add oil in it and one fork will be done. These are shortened 3inches from the standard length CR500 forks that are to long. They are from an 89 model so they are the USD or Inverted cartridge styles, I will have around 9 inches of travel when their done.

I'm gonna hopefully finish up the one tomorrow and get started one the 2nd one. After that I'll work on making a new front axle, making a hub/brake rotor work in conjunction with the CR500 front caliper, and the tripple trees.

Engine doesn't run but I'll have kickass suspension!

I'll try and take some tomorrow along with my YFZ450/Tri-Z axle project too. The inverts are about the same length of the 350X forks, maybe even a bit shorter

Yeah I've had a roller for several years...just engine and other design problems have hindered it from being done. Everything is still in the "fit" mode and probably will be for a while to come, when all the fit is done I'll take it apart and "finish" it.

Heres some pictures I took tonight, the shop is already kind of dark so the pictures aren't the greatest. Theres also a few of my other project, putting a YFZ450 axle into a Tri-Z. So far I've had to use the YFZ450 axle bearings (Tri-Z axle is smaller diameter), I'll have to machine the Tri-Z brake rotor some, and I have to use a YFZ450 sprocket hub because the splines and diameter on it are larger then the Z. The sprocket hub will be here Thursday and after I get it all together I'll make another post with some more pictures, its gonna be nice and wide :-)

What do you mean? Thats what the USD (Up side down), or Inverted forks are. They have a cartridge inside the bottom tube that the dampening rod works up and down in.
