for the snorkel you can get some rubber tubing the size of your carb and just use a hose clamp and connect that then run it along your frame and out the back then have it come up and then put a big air filter on the the end and have it stick up about a foot or 2 above your fender. and the winch if u got a front rach im sure u can make somthin up. damn i want a rack for my 350 on the front and back i want one on the front so i can put a whinch on there. well it is my 200x but its got a 350 front end.

I just installed a winch on my 85' Big Red. It's a 1500lb cap. Works great. Found the biggest, muddiest hole I could and launched in their to test it out. I had mud up to the head. Pulled'er out no problem. We have light machines so that helps. As far as your front rack is concerned, you might have to make one if you can;t find an OEM rack. I made 2 plates out of 3/8" galv. steel and sandwiched them between the rack. Than I took a piece of 1/4" steel and attached the winch to that, than that peice on to the the 3/8" top plate. I was worried about the rack bending, that's why I opted for the sandwich effect with two pieces. Adds a fair amt of wieght to your front end, though. I could only notice it going over whoop-D-do's though. Felt like the rear end wanted to lift a little bit. Minor issue considering I no longer have to push and pull my way out of the slop. You also have to centre the unit somewhat on the rack, in order to distribute the weight evenly. You cannot have the wire running straight with the centre of the bike. The motor side of the winch is heavier, so it's got to be off centre a little bit. Mine is not perfectly balanced - if I put the bike on a lift the wheel will pull to the left slightly, but it's a good compromise.
I am also considering snorkeling this thing. Shouldn;t be hard. Couple pieces of PVC, some hose and clamps. For the exhaust, I'm thinking of just tapping the spark arrestor and fitting it with a pipe with a 90 degree angle.
I ahve seen pics before of a snorkelled big red, but I can;t find them now. I'd also like to make it so there is a quick assembly and disassambly of the unit - so as to make it as versatile as possible. Any one have other ideas to help?

if i were you i would attach the winch on the frame not on the front end because if you get really stuck and start to winch it might break your front end off

You're gonna want to put that snorkel on the front, not the back like a think someone mentioned. If you put it on the front, when things get a little hairy, you can raise the front end into a wheelie to keep the snokel above the water line.
