Holy Cow.... I think I just found something pretty cool

Remember that Honda ATC50 that was rumored, but never came out? I was kind of bored this afternoon and was digging around the US patent office and found this (Pictures attached below). Checkout the front suspension! I'm not totally positive if its a 50 or maybe an improved ATC70. Look at the similarties in design between it and Yamaha Tri-Zinger, it even has inverted front forks just like a zinger! And this is the killer part, the patent was submitted in 81, which means that there is a VERY good possibility that Yamaha copied this design, or maybe even Honda sold it to them. The similarities are way to close to be coincidental.

I've found some other really cool stuff too, like 2 different designs of a threewheeler hauler design that doesn't use a trailer. Instead, a complex design of bracketry simply goes onto a normal ball hitch and it holds the threewheeler in place (Like those bicycle haulers you see). Theres also preliminary designs from Yamaha for a trike from 1978. I'll post some more stuff, this is just to friggen cool. Maybe I'll find something for the ATC500R

Yeah I did, I'm finding even more stuff now. I found the 85 ATC250R patent, the 250ES one, and some other thing I'm saving the pictures of now. The trike itself is tiny looking but has ape hanger style handlebars that fit an adult....First pit bike?

what do the other publications mean? both say "snow goer honda atc110" "cycle world 3/78 p.94 honda ATC70 center of page", and some other stuff,, atleast thats what i think it says, hard to make out exactly what it says.,,, also, on that second one, in the first picture.,. see on the left side of the engine? looks like a kick starter?

Jared I think those are suppose to be references to things similar as to what they are patenting, I'm not sure though. I'll get the Yamaha one and post it too.

Heres the Yamaha one....the space inbetween the handlebars and seat reminds me of an old Honda scooter.
