94's were good years. As far as i know they were quick and reliable. What are some of the spares?

well im 16 and have an 2003 CR125 and ill tell u that thing is a beast, yamahas and suzukis dont match the power and speed, its a great bikes all of the 125s and the 250s have been winning for almost 30 years, plus since its a honda u know its reliable, the only problems u will have is a new spark plug ebery once in a while but is just cause its a 2 stroke, so yeah id buy it there great bikes and if u ever need any info on them IM me at MichiganW88

ive been told that with the two strokes that they need the filters changed often and they go through quite a few top ends

Going through top ends is a way of life with two strokes all bikes need filters washed on a regular basis. The mid 90's Honda two strokes are supposed to have decent bottom and be a better motor than the new bikes. you can get flywheel weights and pipes to increase lowend on any bike.

well i got my 2003 cr125 in may of 2003 and i just changed the airfilter june of 2004 and it was hardly dirty. and iv road a 1995 cr125 and i can tell u the new ones deffinatly have more bottom end and a little more top but the mid 90s had a bit more mid range power. and yes they are suitable for trail riding and deffinatly dunes. there a race bike so they can hadle about anything! i think if u want to trail ride in like a stateforest u might need a tailpipe with a spark aggresser but if its completly stock like mine then trailprotrailpro fine. im not sure about the 1994 cr125 but the 2003 has a decimal of 94 and that what it needs to be to ride in a forest.

gearing will help with dunes and the trails. I ride with a guy who has a 250 and stock it vibrated badly and he had to work the clutch to keep it from stalling. he changed the sprockets for shorter gearing and it solved the problem. The spark arrestor thing is needed for pretty much every where but a track.

majority of places require one some private properties dont require them. its fairly cheap to put a spark arrestor on most bikes.
