Got the holeshot
Well I was under the inpression from what I've read, that 81-84 250r aircooled motors were interchangable, a straight swap, well I used a 82 bottom end in my 84 and was dropping it in tonight when I noticed the shifter shaft was tagging the frame, looks like its longer. Whats the fix for that????

My thinking for years now was the same as your, their the same! Well their not. I have an '82 250r and an '83 250r, after reading your post, I went out and measured and the '82 is almost exactly an inch longer than the '83.
i think that the 81-82 swap and the 83-84 swap with each other i think.....

yup the bottom ends are diffrent 81 82 and 83 84 alot of parts interchange but their not the same if u need a 83 bottom end shoot me a pm!

you do NOT need a whole new bottom end, just the shifter shaft. it will swap out.
