86 250r ??

I have a neighbor next door who just bought one of the new honda 450's and wants to get rid of his 250r!! This bike is totaly awesome! He said that he wanted to pull out the 390 motor and i could have the rest if the price was right??? ITs got a 8in over swingarm, some kind of chrome drag shock, durablue axel, frames in great condition with everything there, forks are in mint condition, its got a custom painted hubs both front and rear, A smooth buff sand tire on the front mounted on a douglas rim, tank,plastic (cut in back by a pro.),seat, headlight are in mint condition! Plus he has all the original stuff to make it back to a 86r except for the motor!!! He said i could have it for $800! Is this a good deal?? I will get pictures soon!!

it may be worth $800...but i aint sure...that sounds a bit pricey. lets see some pics first

I just found out that it doesnt have a 8in swinger instead it has a 12in

Sounds way too steep without a engine. Without an engine, the rest of that stuff you listed is useless.

If everything is mint as you say It is well worth $800 even without a motor. You can't build a roller with those parts for $800 plus the extras to make it stock. You can get a motor for $600 and have a nice machine for under $1500. If it is mint I would jump on it although it never hurts to try to get it a little cheaper, offer him a little less.

If you do get it and convert it back to stock let me know, I'm looking for a extended swingarm for a 500r project.

Bigred are you in Oregon? I think it is a tad steep without actually seeing the trike, but it would be enough for me to go look at. So if your not interested, I am.

Ya im in oregon! Salem to be exact! I Guess I will have to sell my 2 200s to get enough cash to buy it, so if anyone is interested let me know??? Also where can i purchase a 250r motor for $600??? Thanks

When you get it let me know, I have a couple motors and will trade off some of the cost if your interested.
