how on earth do get the cam bushing off 200x??????????????

So i'm TRYING to put my motor back together, and i'm slowly getting there, anyway..........i'm putting the cam back in and i noticed i'm supposed to have a dowel pin in the bushing on the end that lines up with a hole in the head. I dont remember ever seeing a bushing on there, and even if it is supposed to be there, isn't the bushing supposed to come off???? it just spins on the end of the cam and i cant get it off!!!! someone help please!!!

I think at some stage the top end has run dry of oil and the bush has siezed on the cam. It has kept running and has worn grooves in the bush and cam and these grooves are holding the bush and cam together but still letting it spin. The bush should spin without wobbling side to side.

If the cam bushing won't come off and it wobbles then the bushing and the cam are junk. They will need replaced. The most common cause of this is a plugged oil port. This would cause the top end to starve for oil ( as greenhuman said ).

Can you run it like that? You probably could for a short while. But I do not recommend running it. It may ( probably will ) cause you a lot more problems ( $$$ ) down the road if you do run it.

my 200m did the same thing...the oil port that shoots oil in the camshaft got plugged..not cool....the timing chain was rattling badly, so i had to check it out, sure enough, my cam was shot....the lobes were actulally pushed in about 5mm and this thing ran!!!..i would have never known if i keep running it...i have another 200es engine, so i stole the cam from it...a cam will probally run you about $300....my advise, tear the top end down, clean all the ports and galleries..and check out your oil pump while your at it..
