    New Dodge Powerwagon!

I just caught a glimpse of it on TV a little while ago. Looks like its going to be a killer off road/work truck. Solid axles front and rear, locking diffs, and a standard 12,000# winch. Thats all I caught of it...but Im sure the engines available for it are the same as the 2500 and 3500 series. I cant wait to see a write-up or test of this truck in the coming months.

I wanna see it. The only engine options should be the big bad-ass Hemi, or the Cummins. Hell yeah.

I'v read up on this truck a bit...

Fairly beefy axles..not sure exactly what, but they are probably AAM. Probably d44 equivalents. Lockers. Manual tranny (heard about a 6 speed but itll probably be a nv3500 and some slushbox). 4.10 or 4.55 gears, depending on the tire choice which is 33/35's which I think a 17 inch wheel is standard with either. Hemi 5.7 is the standard (and only I believe) powerplant.

When, and if, it comes out, it won't be as glorious as the prototype. We will still see the truck, but probably in the form its flaunted as currently, it will cost a pretty penny. I'm willing to bet they will come with the 4.7 and the old 360 as an upgrade, with the hemi being an option. I don't know about a locker in the front, but it will have to be selectable...And quite possibly another option.

Either way, it looks like its gonna be a good truck and its just another step in the ongoing truck war.

Expect GM and Ford to have some similar vehicles in the future. Until GM offers the exact truck I want, my 3/4 ton is, and probably always will be the ultimate truck/moneypit in my eyes

I would think the axles would be a little stronger than a D44....probably a D60 up front and a D70 out back, because its a 3/4 and 1 ton truck. Stock tires are going to be 33" and the Hemi will be the only available powerplant for the first year (hopefully a Cummins next go-around). The lockers are selectable, and the price starts at $42K if I remember correctly.

I was under the impression that from the prototype I saw it was a halfton...More like a purpose built offroader, in the likes of the srt10.

    Thats what it is.
Is get thick skid plates under it, a front mounted wrench, seletacble locker front and back I believe, electronic sway bar disconnect. It's a trail rig.
Yes the only engine is the 5.7 hemi. It's a trail rig so that'll be the only engine avaible I would bet. The chassis is a 3/4, so it's get big diff front and rear.

    You're thinking of another vehicle.

Sorry to drag up such an old thread, but I finally picked up a Power Wagon after drooling over them for the last 6 years. A 2007 with 28,000 miles on it.

Any other 3ww members with a Power Wagon? Anything I should keep an eye on, something specific prone to failure?

So far I LOVE this truck... can't wait to plan a remote camping trip somewhere and really put it to use!

The best truck I ever owned was my 96'. It was a extended cab long box 1/2 ton that thought it was a 1 ton. Never did nothin' to it. And hauled everything with it. Drove it all over the U.S. rodeoing. I loved my Dodge. Have a Chevy now (had a 96' Chevy too), now I'm really missin' my Dodge, lol.
    83' 200x (son's). 85' 200 auto-x & 85' 125m (daughters). 84' Tecate(?). 85' KXT Tecate (mine!, mine!, mine!.)+ some others but don't feel like typing them in.
