    more questions for ya, lol.

Hey, i am having the same sort of problem with the tri z that i had before. When I give it gas it revs high but it barely moves, it will sometimes not even make it up a little tiny hill and I have to pull the clutch in and gas it to try it again. It does this in every gear. I gas it and it revs high but with no power and the bike barely moves but when I let go of the gas and give it only a little bit it will run like normal unless I gas it again. What could this problem be from? I had the top of the engine off and a mechanic friend of mine said the top end was good. I am getting the stock sized jet for the carb tomorrow, could that be the problem, the jet too big or too small? Any other ideas? appreciate it very much, Rob.

If i understand you correctly, then your clutches are toast.

Thanks, it was the clutch cable was worn out and too short so it kept the clutch half pulled in all of the time so I replaced the cable and it runs good now. The only problem i am having now is that the bike will just die sometimes, could be going up a hill or driving through mud. Then i have to wait a few minutes to restart it and go. I think this might be from having too big of a main jet, I am getting the stock jet tomorrow. I think maybe the engine is getting too much gas. Could this be right or do you guys think its something else? Rob

If its just dying intermittently, I doubt it has anything to do with jetting.

Hey, I got the stock main jet today but when I went to replace it and when I took the old one out it is like the exact same size as the stock jet. Could that be causing some of the problems. The bike is bored over with wiseco performance pistons and has a full dg exhaust and the normal air filter. Should I get a bigger jet and if so, what size? thanks rob

float level might be why its acting like its getting to much fuel. ive heard of bikes with that problem before.

Your CDI box or staotr coil could be getting weak.

then your jetting is right so you can rule one thing out.

When it dies you need to immediately pull the plug, note what it looks like, not just color, but whether its wet or dry, and then check for spark. There is no way to determine which part is bad from your description, and you have a long list of wild guesses on this thread. You can either replace all the parts on that list until you get lucky and hit the right one if it happens to be on it, or you can try to isolate the problem. Step one is to figure out if its electrical or a fuel problem. When you determine that, then give the results and I can help you where to go from there. As I said before, jetting is not likely a cause, because having the jetting off isnt going to cause it to intermittently die.

hey, i found out that the problem with the bike cutting out is the box that the spark plug wire goes into. The box has a small crack in it where water was seeping in. Thanks for the help guys.
