    1983 honda 200 -no teeth

A person I know is selling a 1983 200.It's supposed to be in great shape but the front sprocket is striped no teeth. He say's you have to rip the whole motor apart to replace, because of the hi-lo is in front and is part of the side case?Anyone have one of these trike's that would know what to do.

This must be a 200e ( Big Red ). The sprockets are a pain to replace. They aren't very cheap either. To replace one it probably will take 1-2 hours.

My 110 is like this. The front sprocket is under the left sidecase. The High-Low range box is an easy removable assembly of 3 or 4 gears (can't remember exactly) Anyway, after that comes off you take the gear lever, pullstart, and flywheel off, then remove the left sidecase and now you can change the sprocket. You DO NOT have to take the whole motor apart!!
