how can I tell the year?

I bought a yamaha 125 three wheeler and the guy didnt know the year..how can I find out the year.??

you can tell by the vin number. i think it is like the 9th or 10th digit or letter. i know that E is 1984, F is 1985, G is 1986 so on and so forth.

Thanks...I should also mention that this is my first atc.. so I dont even know where to find the vin #..help please..thanks

the vin should be on the frame behind the headlight. it should on the part of the frame that the forks are connected to. your vin should start with JY?????????????????. i think the vin is like 17 digits long.

Sorry but I don't have my service manual here with me. It tells exactly how to tell the year of your trike. You will also find the vin# on the right side(footbrake) of your motor. I'll try to get you an answer if I get back up to camp anytime soon.
