Why the loss in power?

Hey guys i was wondering if there was a gap in between the header and silencer would cause the motor to lose most of its bottom end power? this is on a 200x...i noticed the other day that my exhaust flange had expanded and the two peices didn't feel tightly any more and most of the exhaust is coming out of that space, the clamp didn't even tighten down enough. thanks

Sounds like the leak is bad enough that its hurting backpressure and making your low end feel week. Yes its possible. later
