finished drag tri- z powervalved ,,,pics!!

all i need now is too make two chains into one ,and tighten a few bolts here and there, that is the temp gauge hooked to the thermostat housing in the airbox lid, not a faux boost gauge!!!

here is more, the motor has a new top end so im breaking it in by starting it only, sounds totally different that my stock z,revs alot faster, and sounds more like dirt bike,it has so much compression i broke two kick starter levers in the first five kicks!! no oil or coolant leaks so far

this fall i will tear it all down ,repaint it, get new plastic, cut the forks, and i will race clay based drags,so those tires are fine, this is a project that needs alot of time, but aleast its all together finally, and if i need more power, i put that motor in my stock z!!those rear fenders were busted up, so i cut them, looks kinda funny, huh?

OrangeShee I gotta give it to ya that Tri-Z is gonna be bad arse but man dont cut them forks unless its gonna be pure sand drags. You jump with that thing dont ya? I would cut them unless ive got a spare pair for jumping. I like the rest of the trike but cant stand the lowered forks.

this bike will be used for the clay drags only, maybe for the coal hills in central pa, i have never jumped this one ,hell, the forks need a rebuild ,all swingarm bearings, and lots of paint and little cosmetic stuff, the motor that came out is being parted out, with all the bearing needed and blown forks,i might take the motor back out after break in and put it in the other z, until this one is up to par

Orange Shee, welcome to the exclusive club of powervalved 3 wheelers. Now, us Honda & Yamaha guys can experience the powervalve advantages that were originally only given to Tecates. Nice work!

hey 03 i love that Z!!! i'm picking mine up tommorow and i'm hoping to have it together very soon. it's kinda like yours. same colors and i'm putting a powervavle engine in mine. the only differenece is mine is fully drag ported on alky and it has a ESR pipe too. the engien and exhaust are out of a micro sprint race car. i'll get some pics up ASAP that way we can compare lol. i like it and teh lowered forks look cool. but you might be just a tad too low. oh yeah what do you guys mean cut your forks??? how do you go about this. i'm guessing you unsrew the cap on top cut the tube down rethread it and screw it all back together??? lemme know i'm gonna lower mine bout 2 inches i think. oh yeah one more thing how much of a stretch is on that thing. i was thinking of going about +6. just wondering

why can't you take out a spring, like the 85 atc 250r's, or cut the spring, don't cut the tubes. If I'm correct the forks on the 86z were identical to 86 atc250r's and the springs are intercahngable between 85 and 86. like it alot though, how many people on this board have powervavled trikes(besides the 86/87 tecate guys), and how many have big bores, I've got a 330.
