If they were rolling on 3, then maybe they were chopped up and were turned from a 4wheeler to a 3. ??? Maybe I don't know.

Suzuki had the ALT line, similar to the Honda's non-suspended ATCs.

As far as racers go, I believe most of the few out there were RM motorcycle or some other type of conversion and were never produced.

i was just thinking about how cool it would be to take a period RM250 and convert it to a trike.

Well back in the 3 wheeler racing years, there were all sorts of hybrid type machines out there. Husky, suzk, tigers and so on. Some where manufactured and others were just created. It would be cool to find some old hand made ones but I am sure they were parted out once the quad scene hit to use to build racers for that.

BTW, A while back I seen a sweet racing trike that was called a widowmaker. I have no idea what brand it was, but it was similar to a white 250r but not the 250r geometry or platics. So was this trike build from odd parts or what the heck was it?

Widow maker trikes are usually the crazy fabbed up high powered trikes. They used the YZ 490 motor in a Tri-Z chasis, the KX500 in a Tecate T-3 chasis, and the famous CR500 motor in the 250r chasis. There are tons of other ones that have street bike motors in them too but those are among the most done. They were created for drag racing at the dunes and local drag track, due to the crazy amount of power they have.
