Tug Hill in northern N.Y. was full or ATV's

I went through the Tug Hill on my way to the Adirondaks and I couldnt believe how many people were up there riding. The lot was full of trailers and wheelers, and the campgrounds looked full allso. It seems that that part of N.Y. is happy to have ATV's in their communities. It was a beatifull week in the Adirondaks.

I ride Tug Hill quite often. You need to be legal, a regestration and insurance. I get stoped at least 2 times per ride up there. It is pretty cool, they have opened up alot of the roads and towns for ATVs. Its nice to grab a map put over 100 miles on a ATV, look at the sites, get a burger/beer and get back to the truck w/o worrying about the cops.

Trailpass does not alow trikes. Trailpass is a privitely owned trail system that gets privite land owners to allow ATVs on their land. A nice thing to have in the state, I rode a poker run w/ the owner a few weekends ago. I am still working on the trikers point of view.
NY state ATV legal roads YES (the last I knew). But you need a regi, and insurance. If you search Tug Hill you will be able to find the maps and rules.
I am about 35 mins to where I unload, I ride a bit illegal to get to the legal stuff. OR I can drive 1 1/2 hours and get to an unload spot that I can be to in 15 mins from the other place. I can get to the same place over 1/2 hour quicker and have been on my ATV for 15 mins LOL. Let me know if you are going to make the trip up. Its the same as the sled roads up here. Barns Corners, Montique, Winona, Boilston, Tug Hill, ect.. alot of the little sled places have opened up to ATVs.

    Fall colors in Tug Hill

The foilage is starting to show some color up in the Adirandaks. I would like to ride up in the Tug Hill area this fall when the colors are the best and the air is crisp and smells great. Can you ride 3-wheelers up there or is that where that Trail Pass Trails are? I decided to keep the Tecate because I got way more into it that I coulds sell it for.
