Here is an update... Going well so far. Except the second coat of paint went on a little wet. The clear coat made it look alot better.

Krylon Cherry Red for the tank and forks and headlamp. Krylon glossy black for the frame and Krylon Crome for the ring around the headlamp. I forget the actual name for the fenders but it was a paint for plastic. Can't remember the shade of red either.

The krylon is great...I really like how the spray was a fine fan pattern, very easy to lay down. What did you use for clear?

I believe that was a Krylon clear coat also. I bought alot of paint this last week but I didn't buy all the same brand. I could be mistaken. I will check tonight.

The chrome looked real nice. I am thinking about painting the rims chrome also.

I am a little stumped on what I should do for the handle bars and tail lite bracket. They are both scuffed and a little rusty. any recomendations?

Well the handle bars on the 70 that I freshened up were rusted all to hell. I took a 3M paint and rust remover pad...it works, stuck it in a drill and went at it, once it was down to a fine rust spotted look (if that makes sense) I sprayed it with rustoleum clear, the rust hasn't grown since and its been a couple months of humid weather, but it has been stored inside.

You could always grind it down with the 3M pad and shoot it with rust converter, let it dry fully then sand and shoot with the chrome paint....thats how I did the wheels on the 70...ran out of rust converter and wanted to be done with it or I would have done the same to the handlebars...may still do it but I haven't felt inspired to mess with it lately.

Lemme know what brand clear you used, I would appreciate it, I tested rustoluem clear on the krylon paint and it turned yellow and did not mix well, so if krylon makes clear I would like to get it, I checked their website and it wasn't and option so I just assumed they didn't make it. later

I better add that the 3m rust and paint remover pad will scratch the metal slightly, very fine scratches at that. I just went across the entire thing and it kinda give it a brushed aluminum look and dulled the shine slightly, the clear brought some of that back though. Good luck
