Ok, I have an 83 Honda 185s and I need to know exactly how to adjust the slack on the timing chain. Everyone says there is a bolt, but that doesnt help much. Where is this bolt, and what do I do with it? Thank you

Wasn't the valves huh? Check out the pages the Fox sent you yesterday. On pg 51,the top paragraph explains the procedures. If you don't have a portable tach, don't worry about it,just do it at normal idle.
no, the valve lash was pretty good so im wonderin if it is slop in the timing chain making the noise. im going to check it this evening. Thanks
ok man...i got a 185 that kept snappin chains cause of the slack...all i had to do is wat the clymer said and that was to take that black cap off the bolt on the case (right behind the cylinder) and then take a i believe is a 9/16 open end wrench and a 10mm socket and ratchet or a 10mm wrench and loosen the top bolt a little bit..then pull the starter to turn the engine over and if its still loose then repeat...sometimes there is no black cap cause they got a habit of falling off..i dunno if it will help or not but thats how i got mine workin right
